Features and Tips

  • When AnVir Virus Destroyer is running, it automatically detects and terminates viruses.
  • AnVir Virus Destroyer will notify you when any application adds itself to startup.
  • AnVir Virus Destroyer removes all top viruses: Klez, Nimda, Lentin (Yaha), Tanatos (BugBear), Elkern, Badtrans, PSW.Hooker, Hybris, etc.
  • To set any window as topmost, point to it in the Application window, and on the context menu, click "Topmost".
  • To speed up computer boot time, make startup items delayed (right click on the item and click "Make Delayed Startup").Delayed startup items are started 1 minute after computer is loaded.
  • You can block any annoying process, that is been started without your will. Right click on the process in the Process list and click "Block Process" on the context menu. Blocked processes are terminated automatically
  • You can change the order of columns in any window by dragging and dropping a column.
  • To find recently started processes, sort the Processes list by working-time (click on column's "Work" header).
  • To see a command line of any process, on the context menu, click "Copy Command Line" (in the Processes list).
  • To find recently added startup items, sort the Startup list in the First Found column (click on column's "First Found" header).
  • Processes with an empty File Description are the first candidates to be checked and identified as a possible virus.
  • When you start any application, it is added automatically to the tray menu. It allows you to get quick (two clicks) access to your favorite programs. If you delete a program from this menu, it will never appear in the menu again.
  • To get quick (two clicks) access to your favorite folders, select "Add Folder" from tray menu, browse for the folder and press "Ok".
  • If you want a program to be started automatically every time after you log on, open the Startup window, press the Ins key, and browse for the executable.
  • AnVir Virus Destroyer allows you to terminate any process (even system processes).
  • To sort any window data, press Ctrl-F1 ... Ctrl-F12.
  • To learn more about a startup file or about an executable file of a running process, right click on that item and on the context menu, click "Search in Web".
  • To view the meaning of a column, place the cursor on the header of the column and wait for the tooltip.
