Introduction
Overview
AnVir Virus Destroyer is a powerful tool that protects computers against viruses and manages running processes and startup files.
With AnVir Virus Destroyer, you can:
protect your computer from been infected with viruses
cure an infected computer
view full-info about running processes, including processor and memory usage
manage Windows startup files
access most-often used applications and folders with automatically filled tray menu
speed-up Windows boot time and increase computer performance by disabling useless programs
Main features:
Antivirus monitor. AnVir Virus Destroyer continuously monitors computer memory, and automatically detects, and removes viruses without interrupting your work. It not only terminates viruses, it also cures the infected computer by removing all virus stuff.
Startup manager with list of applications that run on Windows startup. AnVir Virus Destroyer shows all registry entries, startup folders' items and initialization files. You can disable entries, edit entries, locate entries in the registry, create new entries, or delete them permanently.
Task manager with full information about all running processes: file path, file description, work time, memory usage, processor usage, parent process, command line, etc. You can terminate any process, or process tree, get information from Web about each running executable file, etc.
Monitor of Windows startup setting. You will be notified at the moment, when any program tries to add itself to startup list.

Common Tasks
AnVir Virus Destroyer allows you to remove any useless program. A virus, or some software, can run on your computer and use computer recourses, but don't perform any useful job for you.
Here is a list of common computer problems, and AnVir Virus Destroyer's solutions:
Problem: You received infected e-mail and accidentally opened it and it launched the attached virus.
Solution: If AnVir Virus Destroyer is running when you launch a virus, AnVir Virus Destroyer terminates the virus before your computer becomes infected. (By default AnVir Virus Destroyer starts itself on Windows startup.)
Problem: You suppose that your computer is infected with a virus.
Solution: To check system files, on the File menu, click Check for Viruses. Then check the list of auto-started programs and the list of currently running processes, and disable queer files.
Problem: Your computer boots-up and works slowly.
Solution: Check the list of auto-started programs and disable useless software.
Problem: An unknown program runs periodically, and you don't know what this program is, or what launches it.
Solution: Inspect the Log window, find all most recently launched programs along with programs that started them.
Problem: An application is hang-up and doesn't respond.
Solution: Terminate this application from the Application window or from the Processes window.
